CNC Machinist

Entry - Senior Level

Monday - Friday

Day Shift

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the part.
  • Must be able to edit and write CNC programs.
  • Selecting and installing appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and fixtures on the machine to ensure accuracy, and adjusting as necessary.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth or angle of cut, and other factors which affect the machining process
  • Inspecting the finished parts to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Performing routine maintenance on the CNC machines including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the machining process such as tool wear or machine malfunctions.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Monitor job progress against job hours via project sheets and email.
  • Must be familiar with the basic machining functions to perform the tasks stated above.

Competencies

  • Proficient with measuring instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, rulers, scribes, and geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Knowledge/experience with Pro E, Work NC and Power Mill by Autodesk or related CAD/CAM software
  • Experience working with HAAS CNC Mills and Lathes, and/or Mecof CNC preferred.
  • Proficient with a range of cutting tools, inserts, and fixtures used in CNC machining as well as knowledge of various materials and their properties.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy and precision throughout the machining process.
  • Good communication with the ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with engineers, mold makers, and other staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.

Qualifications

  • 2 Year CNC Program diploma or certificate or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge/experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing programs
